Our Team
We are especially interested in making all our patients feel right at home! We put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. Our staff is trained and skilled, and we strive to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Many members of our treatment team are registered assistants, and our office staff has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care. We strive to stay abreast of the very latest in technology and advances by regularly attending continuing education courses and seminars.
Karen Onori
Along with her family, Karen lives in Youngsville, North Carolina. She grew up between Florida and the North Carolina Mountains. Karen keeps busy with her husband of 7 years, Kenn; her sweet 4 year old daughter, Kenna; and her most spoiled Yorkie, Sallie.
Karen has been in the medical field since leaving the US Navy in 1993. She joined the Vinson Orthodontic Team in 2006 as our new patient/treatment coordinator. Karen is inspired by the changes that orthodontics makes in our patients and families lives!
Karen enjoys spending time with her family, is a master at cooking and baking, and loves spending time being crafty and showing her artistic side.
Laura Preston
Originally from Toms River, New Jersey, Laura now resides in Mount Olive, North Carolina with her husband, Teddy, and adorable pit bull, Annie. Laura recently married Teddy back in New Jersey!
Laura enjoys her chair side assistant position here at Vinson Orthodontics. Laura has been a certified orthodontic assistant for 5 years and enjoys the excitement of revealing new, beautiful smiles to her patients.
In her spare time you’ll catch Laura cooking out with friends and family, gardening, and swimming in her pool.
Kelle Atkinson
A Raleigh native, Kelle now calls Franklinton her home. She has been married to her husband, Burton, for 8 years and they are parents to their precious 5 year old daughter, Brittany Grace.
Kelle joined Vinson Orthodontics in 2007 as the financial coordinator. Kelle has over 14 years of front desk/financial and insurance experience. She loves to watch our patients grow and mature into their “new self” during their orthodontic treatment.
Kelle enjoys traveling, spending quality time with family and friends, camping, and scrapbooking.
Katie Langdon
After moving to Smithfield, North Carolina from Durham, Katie got engaged to Mr. Josh Langdon of Smithfield.
Shortly after graduating from UNC Dental School for Dental Assisting in May 2007, Katie joined the team at Vinson Orthodontics. Katie is a chair side assistant and greets our new patients with taking their records. She loves making patients feel great about their smiles and giving them overall confidence.
If she’s not at work, Katie is busy with her horses, fishing and gardening.
Kim Royal
Kim Royal is a long time resident of Raleigh, NC and has been married with 2 children to Jim Royal for 27 years.
She is a retired dental assistant enjoying her new and varying roles in orthodontics. Kim loves working with our patients and staff and serving the role of our marketing coordinator.
Kim loves going to Kure Beach, walking her dog Missy, reading, golf, NC State athletic activities, teaching women's bible study, and fun times with friends.
Megan Atkinson
Megan grew up in Holland, Michigan. She moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina in 2004 and loves the weather here! Shortly after moving, Megan met her husband, Clifton, who is originally from Mississippi here in NC and married in the Fall of 2008.
Megan became a part of the team at Vinson Orthodontics in 2007 as a certified orthodontic assistant. She loves to be a part of patients during such a unique and transitional time in their lives. Her favorite part is seeing their confidence boost after the initial alignment of their teeth!
In her spare time you’ll catch her camping, traveling on weekend trips, shopping, cooking, and entertaining at her home.Jessica Gandy
Jessica grew up in Tampa, Florida. She moved to NC in 1998 when she was stationed at Camp Lejeune.
She has over 7 years of Orthodontic experience and is happy to be a part of our team. During her free time she loves to read, shop and spend time with her family & friends.
Jessica lives in the area with her husband, Josh, and her two beautiful children, Cameron and Phoenix.
Leanne Shirley
Leanne has worked in the healthcare field for 10 years. Born and raised in Greenville, NC and a true East Carolina University Football Fan, she has two wonderful boys 14 and 17 years old that attend West Johnston High School.
She enjoys watching her son's football games on Friday nights and spending time at Carolina Beach with her dog "Gracie". Her interests are decorating, yard work and relaxing at the beach.

Susanne Moyer
Susanne Moyer joined our team November 2009. She resides in Oxford NC and is the mother of three amazing daughters. Meredith is a freshmen at ECU, Go Pirates!! Stephanie is a freshmen in high school and her 4th grader, Madison, rules the house.
A graduate of East Carolina University, Susanne received a BS in Fashion and Design and enjoyed a 12 yr career as a Fashion Buyer for a chain of department stores. She has also owned her own business as a Sales and Marketing professional for over 9 years. Susanne is excited to be learning the field of orthodontists. What could be better than being surrounded by the sight of smiling faces, the sounds of kids enjoying video games and the smell of fresh baked cookies...am I at work?
Her life passions include travel, photography, fitness and shopping.
